About the event
With botanical and wildlife artist, Ruth Wharrier, you will learn together how to create your own sketches of wildlife in Spring and develop the confidence to go out and draw. During this enjoyable day, you will both focus on observational sketching techniques, which you can put into practice outside whilst walking, as well as on detailed drawing techniques that can be used back at home. There will be plenty of inspiration for each age-group as Carlton Marshes is one of the best places in Suffolk for the sheer variety of plants, and the Learning Centre offers enviable views out across the marshes and reed beds.
Ruth is a very experienced tutor who has run many successful workshops for the Trust. She is regularly commissioned by international clients to decorate harpsichords, with flora and fauna using historical painting techniques. For examples of Ruth's exquisite work, see: http://ruthwharrier.com/
