About the event
After a 50-minute talk about their ecology and uses, you will have a practical workshop on nettles and make your own cordage, dye samples and nettle pesto.
During the day, you will also have a chance to sample a range of nettle-based refreshments and hunt out nettle-reliant invertebrates on the beautiful Lackford Lakes reserve.
Please note we will be picking fresh nettles so please wear long sleeves and bring gloves. As you will be spending time outdoors, please come suitably prepared for the weather and wear stout walking shoes or boots.
Suitable for beginners/less experienced.
What to bring:
A packed lunch
A basket or trug
Notepad and pen
