Introduction to hedgehogs, Haverhill
Meeting pointFunction Room of East Town Park Centre
About the event
The course will be presented by founder of Suffolk Prickles Hedgehog Rescue, Paula Baker, who has run many successful and enjoyable courses for Suffolk Wildlife Trust over the years as she shares her passion for these beautiful creatures.
Paula will reveal hedgehogs’ lineage, their preferred habitats, behaviour and feeding habits as well as how we can help them overcome the challenges they face in our gardens today. Hedgehog numbers have dropped alarmingly in the past ten years and we fear up to a third of the UK’s population has been lost. Participants on the course will be encouraged to become Hedgehog Advocates and guided to understand how to provide support for this endearing and endangered creature.
Handouts will be available, but you may wish to bring a notebook and pen.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided and are included in the cost. Please note bookings are non-refundable unless Suffolk Wildlife Trust cancels due to insufficient bookings or other unforeseen circumstances.
Please note that this is the first of a curriculum of three courses Suffolk Wildlife Trust runs in conjunction with Suffolk Prickles Hedgehog Rescue. The follow-on course is Basic Hedgehog Care, which will be taking place on July 25th at Foxburrow Farm. The third course is Intermediate Hedgehog Care, which will schedule for later in the year or early 2021. Do contact us on email@example.com or 01473 890 089 to register your interest in the curriculum.
