About the event

A monthly club for teenagers aged 11-16: discover wildlife, learn new skills, get outside, be active!

Activities vary throughout the year but include; learning to use tools to safely carry out practical tasks that contribute to the management of the reserve; carrying out surveys of key wildlife species, providing information that helps to inform conservation activities on the reserve.

Young Wardens can contribute to the volunteering or skills section of the Duke of Edinburgh Award. If you would like to attend Young Wardens for this reason, please contact the Learning Officer before booking: carlton.learning@suffolkwildlifetrust.org.

All Young Wardens need to be dropped off by an adult who can confirm their emergency contact details at the start of the session. Please do not send young wardens to the session alone as they will not be able to participate.

Important booking information:

To ensure social distancing and minimise overcrowding, there are a limited number of tickets available per session.

Each Young Wardens session will have a maximum of 8 teens. This is so we can ensure that social distancing measures are easily complied with and to minimise the risk of overcrowding.

COVID-19:

In order to run activity sessions safely while the COVID-19 pandemic is still in effect, there are a number of restrictions put in place, which are in the best interests of our participants, staff and volunteers. We appreciate you following the guidelines we have set out.

More detailed information will be outlined in your confirmation email once you have booked onto the session, however, it is important that you read and agree to the following information before you book onto the session.

  • During the session Young Wardens will be encouraged to socially distance from other households. It is your responsibility to ensure that your child is aware of this before they attend the session.
  • All participants will be required to use sanitising hand gel on arrival. This will be provided by us and will be available to use at any additional points during the session.
  • If your Young Warden or a member of their household is showing ANY signs or symptoms of COVID-19, or they have been told by NHS Test and Trace to isolate, they must not attend the session.
  • All equipment used on the day will be cleaned after each session.
