Reserve Internships

Location: Various, Reserves throughout Suffolk

Knettishall Heath by Steve Aylward

Suffolk Wildlife Trust is the county’s nature charity. Our goal is for Suffolk to be nature-friendly, with wildlife able to thrive across Suffolk because everyone is doing more for nature.

Suffolk Wildlife Trust is committed to achieving the best outcomes for biodiversity on its reserves, and we are pleased to offer an exciting new 12-month conservation internship programme. This is a voluntary position working alongside our reserves team and volunteers. You will develop your skills in practical reserve management and volunteer leadership, and receive training to undertake seasonal tasks.

There are opportunities at three of our flagship nature reserves across Suffolk:

Carlton Marshes
Foxburrow Farm (2 positions available)
Redgrave and Lopham Fen

You won’t need any specific skills apart from a positive, helpful and friendly approach.

We ask for a minimum of three days a week, and there is flexibility with which days these can be through your internship.  The hours of work will ideally complement the reserve staff and can be discussed prior to commencement.
