What you will be doing:
Our new catering and welcome offer at Knettishall is going to be an exciting place to volunteer and will quickly become a vital part of our visitor experience and this beautiful reserve. Volunteers will assist the team at Knettishall to serve visitors from the catering and welcome van.
This role will involve chatting to visitors whilst serving drinks, cakes and treats, using a till and encouraging visitors to support Suffolk Wildlife Trust. Full training will be given.
The skills you need:
Cheerful nature and always willing to help. You'll need to enjoy serving customers, working with people of all ages, working in a changing environment and eagerness to learn aspects of the catering offer. Experience in handling food would be helpful but not essential as full training will be given.
What you'll get out of it:
The chance to be part of a friendly and enthusiastic team. You'll learn new skills and share your enthusiasm for wildlife, learning more about the work of the Trust along the way. If you are looking to further your skills, add something to your CV or put skills you already have back into somewhere amazing that needs your support, this could be for you! Knettishall is also a beautiful place to spend time.
The time you need to give:
Currently we are beginning this operation from scratch so for now we are going to be operating Thursday – Sunday every week, all year (plus bank holidays). Our van opening hours are 10.30am–4pm and we are looking for our volunteers to be doing 11am–4.30pm. Shorter shifts are available on prior discussion and we are looking for regular weekly commitment where possible.
