Last year St. Mary’s, Rickinghall Inferior, received a grant from the National Lottery through the BBC Breathing Places to have work carried out in the churchyard. Suffolk Wildlife Trust are asking churches to carry out Wildlife surveys in their churchyards over the next couple of years.
Rickinghall Church will be open from 10 – 5 daily from Monday 14th – Saturday 19th and will have a display to promote local wildlife groups in this area. On Tuesday 15th July Stella Taylor will show people how to identify the wild plants in the churchyard, followed by a bring-your-own picnic. On Wednesday 16th at 7.30 pm Yvonne Leonard will give a talk with slides on ‘Wild Life in Churchyards’ mainly photographed in Suffolk. |
