Suffolk Wildlife Trust is the nature charity for Suffolk – the only organisation wholly dedicated to protecting local wildlife and restoring the county’s natural environment.
Established in 1961, the Trust has been at the forefront of wildlife conservation, landscape recovery and nature learning in Suffolk for over 60 years. During that time, we’ve helped save some of the county’s most endangered species and protected many of its most important wildlife sites. We manage over 7,100 acres of land across a network of 50 nature reserves – critical havens for wildlife that are free to visit and support local people to connect with nature.
As habitat loss, pollution, and climate change continue to impact the health of our natural world – pushing many species to the brink of extinction – we have grown our teams working beyond our reserves. We now collaborate with communities, schools, farmers, landowners, and councils across the county to create a movement of nature-friendly towns, villages, farms, and businesses.
By making more space for nature, we can give wildlife the best chance to thrive and become abundant once more.
Suffolk Wildlife Trust takes its safeguarding responsibilities seriously:
