Beaver Reintroduction

The return of nature's water engineers.

Beavers are the engineers of the animal world, creating wetlands where wildlife can thrive and providing a nature-based solution flooding and river pollution. After a 400-year absence - and campaigning from The Wildlife Trusts - beavers are back in Britain!

The return of beavers can help to: reduce the impacts of flooding, create and improve wetland habitats for other species, and improve water quality and reduce river pollution. However, there are serious considerations to be made before reintroducing beavers to areas of Suffolk, such as potential landscape impact and resource for long-term management.
