About the event

Fungi expert, Jonathan, will cover the main groups of larger fungi, looking at key edible and poisonous species. You will learn how fungi is grouped by families, structure, growth, fruiting bodies, smell, colour and taste. Basic identification techniques will be covered and there will be a chance to ask questions.

Jonathan has been studying fungi for 40 years and is one of East Anglia's most experienced field mycologists. He has led numerous forays in Thetford Forest over the last 15 years including those for Forestry Enterprise as well giving evening talks and day courses on fungi to a variety of groups. He is well known and respected by his peers for his expertise on fungi and his knowledgeable but not overly academic delivery of the subject.
