About the event

Join the team at Lackford Lakes in celebrating this spooky evening!

THIS EVENT IS RUNNING ON 28TH AND 29TH OCTOBER. TICKETS FOR BOTH DAYS CAN BE BOOKED ON THIS PAGE BELOW.

Come and explore the reserve after dark and get involved with some spooky nature-themed activities to discover the creatures of the night!

Following the trail, you will get the opportunity to see the Lakes in a whole new way and of course fancy dress is encouraged!

Activities include:

Tin can bug hotel- upcycle your tin can to put out in your garden and create a home for insects. *Bring your own tin can!*

Owl pellet dissection - explore the curious diet of this beloved bird.

Torch lit bug hunting- see what bugs can be found using our red light torches. Have a look at our moth trap and see the moths in action.

Bat detectors - what bats can be found at the Lakes? We will guide you through how to use a bat detector to listen out for the bats flying around.

Skull handling - get up close and personal to find out which animal they belong to

Plus get creative at our clay creature station!

All activities are included in your ticket.

The event is recommended for 6+ due to the 'spooky' nature and is VERY dark between activities so please bring a torch! This is an outdoor event so wrap up warm and dress for the weather.

The café and toilets will be open on the night. If you would like a takeaway drink to take round the trail, please bring a reusable cup.

Please note activities may be subject to change.

Additional booking information

IMPORTANT BOOKING INFORMATION:

We are running this event over two days. Please ensure you pick the correct date in the ticket selection.

To minimise overcrowding and queues to get in, you must book an arrival time-slot. Please arrive at your allocated time. If you would like to attend with another family, you must book the same timeslot. We reserve the right to refuse entry to those who are late for their time slot, and may not allow entry before your allotted time. No admission without pre-booking.

The last time slots are at 7pm- no entry after 7pm. Pease remember that the clocks change the weekend before this event. Event finishes at 7.30pm and we request that all visitors are off-site by 8pm.

For booking, please select your desired date, then your desired time slot (the start time, all tickets end at 7.30pm), then select an adult + child combined ticket. Then, add additional adults and/or additional children selecting the tickets with the same date and time slot as the combo ticket. Please ensure you have double checked your date and time slot selection for all tickets in your order, which should match, and do not book additional tickets under a different time slot. Contact us for guidance on this if the booking system is unclear.
