Remembering Tim Woodward

Remembering Tim Woodward

It is with great fondness that we remember our friend and Chair of Suffolk Wildlife Trust’s Board of Trustees, Tim Woodward.
Tim Woodward

Tim has been a calm and wise presence on the Board for almost five years and was elected as Chair in November 2024. He was an exemplary and deeply kind colleague who could always be relied upon.

Tim was widely respected as someone who was able to impart advice in a measured but meaningful way, drawing on his many years of experience in land management and nature conservation. During his time as Trustee, Tim supported the growth of our farm advice team to support nature-friendly farming across the county and ambitious landscape recovery collaborations with landowners to bring nature back on a landscape scale. In recent years, Tim encouraged the Trust to be bold in our plans to extend our nature reserves. With the addition of Martlesham Wilds and Worlingham Marshes, he was immensely proud of our achievements.

Tim was in his element in woodlands. Most evenings, after a day at his desk, he walked through Bradfield Woods, one of the Trust’s ancient woodland nature reserves close to his home, taking delight in watching the hares at twilight along the way.

Tim was a very genuine man. An ambassador for nature through his own deep love of the countryside, with a strong sense of purpose which he brought to the Board of Trustees.

Thank you Tim for your wisdom, commitment and indomitable spirit. You will be missed greatly.
