Wild Reads is a partnership project between Suffolk Wildlife Trust and Suffolk Libraries. It aims to give everyone in the county the chance to enjoy the very best nature writing. The collection is curated to help inspire and ignite a love of nature in readers as seen through the individual lenses of a wide variety of writers. 

Nature writing is a great way to connect to the natural world through the comfort of your own home, or wild place! Since the project first launched in 2020, we have celebrated some wonderful titles, including On the Marsh by Simon Barnes and Meadowland by John Lewis-Stempel.  

2023 welcomes a brand-new collection of books inspired by the wonders of nature. This year’s titles include :  

• The Swifts and Us by Sarah Gibson 

• Silent Spring by Rachel Carson 

• Stubborn Light of Things by Melissa Harrison 

• Under the stars by Matt Gaw 

• Underland by Robert McFarlane 

Every other month we will be celebrating a different Wild Read from our book list. But in the meantime, we have an exciting launch event coming very soon!

Author Sarah Gibson will be joining Suffolk Libraries on Wednesday 3 May 2023 at 6pm to talk about her book "The Swifts and Us". This is a free event, hosted via zoom. We hope to see you there!
