About the event
Insects and other invertebrates use a range of different signals to find mates, food and habitats. What are these signals? Is climate change affecting bugs and their ability to thrive?
Ian is an entomologist, who has been fascinated by bugs since a child. He studied the butterflies of the South Downs in his youth and went on to work in Research Entomology and ran the Entomology Department at the John Innes Centre in Norwich for 42 years. After retirement, he went on to work as an independent entomologist, offering advice to companies developing safer plant protection products and encouraging wildlife-friendly gardening. He delivers numerous bug-related presentations and is the 'go to' entomologist for many broadcasting outlets.
