Session 3: Life on the Cliffs (Tuesday 15 December)
Discover the rich wildlife and unique habitats of East Suffolk’s cliffs. We'll explore how the cliffs have been shaped over thousands of years and the variety of plants and animals that call them home today. Inspired by this special landscape, you'll create a small hand-built clay sculpture celebrating one of the species that lives along the coast—or one that lived here in the past.
What to Expect:
We'll begin each session with a relaxed look at a collection of objects and materials gathered by Lucy, including pottery, books, poems and images connected to the themes of the workshop. With a cup of tea or coffee, this will be a chance to explore ideas, share thoughts and get inspired. We'll then try some simple creative activities to help you get started, followed by a demonstration of the clay techniques we'll be using.
There will be plenty of time to experiment, make and explore at your own pace. At the end of the session, there will be an optional opportunity to share your work and ideas with the group.
