Young Wardens

Discover wildlife, learn new skills, get outside, be active!

Our Young Wardens clubs are monthly sessions for teenagers aged 11-16yrs to learn new skills in wildlife conservation on one of our nature reserves.

Activities vary throughout the year - depending on seasons, weather and wildlife - however often include: learning to use tools to safely carry out practical tasks that contribute to the management of the reserve, carrying out surveys of key wildlife species, and providing information that helps to inform conservation activities on the reserve. We run Young Wardens at Carlton Marshes (Lowestoft), Foxburrow (Woodbridge) and Lackford Lakes (Bury St Edmunds).

Young Wardens can contribute to the volunteering or skills section of the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
