About the event

To find out more about the event on June 29 and to book your place, please follow this link.

This is a course for adults with Hawk Honey, Visitor Centre Officer at Lackford Lakes.  Suitable for beginners.

There are over 270 species of bee in the UK, many so small that people may disregard them thinking they are flies. You will be looking at the various species of bees and the differences between them.  Hawk will help you to identify them and tell you about their differing lifecycles. You will also discover how to make your garden a bee friendly place. After lunch, Hawk will take you out onto the reserve on a bee hunt using sweep nets to see what you can find.

(Want to learn more about identifying bees and insects, check out the Insect ID for Beginners course for adults here
