About the event

Magic of the Marshes is a storyweaving project on the edge of the marshland landscape of the Lower Waveney Valley. The project aims to create a story from the marshes using inspiration from folk tales, historic events, and magic moments captured from those that visit the marshes today. This story is being transformed into an interactive children’s book, alongside other tales recorded and available online for all to access.

For this event, Vicky Eyles from Suffolk Wildlife Trust will introduce the project, while Suzanne Arnold, local storyteller and creator of our tale, will give an insight into the researching and creation of story from a storytellers perspective, with tellings of marshland folk tales that illustrate our changing relationship with the land.
