Immy and Sheena Walk For Wildlife

Immy and Sheena Walk For Wildlife

A big thank you to 10-year-old Immy, and her Mum, Sheena, who walked an amazing 39 miles in 3 days around Suffolk in order to raise funds for Suffolk Wildlife Trust. Their efforts have raised a fantastic £325 for wildlife.

Immy and her Mum both spent lots of time walking during the 2021 winter lockdown and they decided to challenge themselves to walk from their home in north Suffolk to Felixstowe. Their love for Suffolk and its wildlife inspired them to raise money for Suffolk Wildlife Trust.

Sheena says "I'm incredibly proud of Immy for managing it and maintaining such good spirits and determination throughout! It was a brilliant experience for both of us, although the last 3 miles along Felixstowe seafront on the last day - 15 miles in total that day - was a bit of a challenge!"

Their adventure took them through some beautiful landscapes and villages, stopping overnight twice, before starting again the next day. Immy and Sheena particularly enjoyed the latter stages of the walk, which ran alongside Deben estuary, spotting some wading birds along the way.

Sheena goes on to say, "I should add that neither Immy or me are especially fit or sporty so I reckon if we can do it most people can and I'd highly recommend it as an experience. We were admittedly lucky as the weather was very kind to us."

Once again, our heartfelt thanks to Immy and Sheena! If you are inspired by their story, and would like to find out how you can raise money for our local wildlife, visit our Team Wilder pages for ideas and tips.
