Trustee cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats to fundraise for Carlton Marshes

Carlton Marshes by Steve Aylward

Our trustee, Calum Thomson, is undertaking an amazing journey, to raise funds for Suffolk Wildlife Trust….

In September, Calum will be cycling 980 miles from Land's End to John O'Groats in just 9 days! This incredible journey will help raise funds for a new mobility scooter to be used at Carlton Marshes nature reserve.

Since opening, the reserve has allowed  many thousands of children and adults to experience a fantastic outdoor space and to learn about nature. A mobility scooter will enable everyone, regardless of physical capabilities, to explore the reserve as the site already has an extensive network of suitable paths and viewing points.

The scooter is a Breeze S4, which costs £6,234

Calum has already completed the ride once before - in 2015, but if for any reason he is unable to do so this time, Calum will attempt to make up the missing miles by other routes.

Thank you so much Calum for your amazing fundraising efforts!
