What are you looking forward to in this role?
I am excited to work with inspiring individuals and communities across Suffolk; whether it’s protecting endangered species, defending biodiverse habitats or influencing decision-makers, I’m hoping to help empower the people of Suffolk to make real positive changes for the spaces and species we love.
Why is campaigning for nature so important?
Nature needs us now more than ever, and the power of the people should not be underestimated. Campaigning can be as simple as writing to your local MP or talking to a neighbour about your cause. Whatever way you choose, you’re giving wildlife a voice and putting nature on the agenda.
Can you recommend any small actions people can start taking to support nature?
Helping nature doesn’t have to be complicated, or expensive! Small actions have a powerful impact when lots of us do them, like picking up a crisp packet blowing along the pavement or taking a reusable bag to the supermarket. Creating a wildlife-friendly garden is another great place to start.
Where is your favourite place in Suffolk to spend time in nature?
It’s hard to choose between so many special places, but as a marine lover, coastal Suffolk has my heart. I love walking along the beach searching for cuttlebones and shells, spotting playful seals bobbing in the waves and swimming with my friends as the sun dips behind the beach huts.
