About the event

This Christmas, join the Coddiwomplers for a festive willow-weaving workshop. With guidance from two experienced basket makers, you’ll learn some of the basic skills and techniques of willow weaving while creating a beautiful Christmas decoration for your home.

In this workshop, you’ll create a 1m-wide willow star using the ‘wild weave’ technique. The finished star will make a stunning feature on a wall or hanging outside, and you can even add lights for some extra festive sparkle.

The workshop is suitable for complete beginners, so no previous experience is necessary. However, as willow weaving is a hands-on craft, a reasonable level of hand strength and manual dexterity is required.

Guided by two experienced basket makers, you’ll learn a range of traditional willow weaving techniques as you make up to four festive decorations, including a wreath, mini reindeer, star and spiral weave Christmas tree. Every piece will be unique and handcrafted by you, making them perfect for decorating your home or for giving as gifts.

Whether you’ve always wanted to try willow weaving or simply fancy a creative festive escape, this relaxed and friendly workshop is the perfect way to spend a few hours in the run-up to Christmas.

All materials and tools will be provided.

Tea and coffee will be provided throughout the course.

Please note that your booking is non-refundable and non-transferable and we run all our courses based on a minimum number of participants. You can find our full Terms and Conditions here.
