Come and see us at the Suffolk Show 2023!

Setting up the Suffolk Show, Kayleigh Jowers

We will be attending the Suffolk Show on Wednesday 31st May & Thursday 1st June 2023! Kayleigh Jowers, our Events Manager, tells us what you can expect...

We’re delighted to be back in the wildlife area at this year’s Suffolk Show. We will be encouraging you to take action for local wildlife through our 30 Days Wild Campaign - a record 650,000 people took part across the UK in 2020! We invite you to start your ‘random act of wildness’ every day for 30 days in June by searching for wildlife in the wildlife area at the show ground, a beautiful, wild area managed by Suffolk Wildlife Trust with a large wildlife pond - it's usually only open to the public once a year at show time!

Expect to be inspired into #TeamWilder action when you discover how to make a bug hotel, dip for underwater minibeasts, sweep for flying exoskeletons and build a space to help #actionforinsects. Learn about our new and exciting nature reserve, Martlesham Wilds, and share your ideas with us on how its future might be shaped and supported. Advice on swifts and other wildlife will be on hand, too, and we are excited this year to be joined by ‘Planet Birdsong’ a pop-up Birdsong Studio which gives visitors an opportunity to sing various sounds whilst following spectrographs (graphic images of sounds) and hearing them slowed down. It is a kind of bird karaoke! We'll have our coffee, tea and cake van there too, so you can grab some refreshments while enjoying the activities. We can’t wait to see you!
