We’re celebrating Nest Box Week with a new mate!

We are very excited to announce our new partnership with Suffolk Building Society, to champion nature and help local people save!

Suffolk Building Society – a like-minded member-owned organisation whose mission is to provide a safe home for savers and safe homes for its communities – has rolled up its sleeves and joined #TeamWilder.  This 172-year-old mutual society - known for the houses it helped build for the unenfranchised of the 19th century – also wants to help protect natural habitats.

Suffolk Building Society has created two savings accounts which benefit the Trust and offer 50% off a one-year Suffolk Wildlife Trust membership and a giveaway too. The aptly named ‘Nature Reserve Regular Saver’ is an adult savings account and comes with a pack of star or hexagon shaped bee friendly seeds. The Suffolk Young Saver is a savings account for young people and children under 21 and comes with a pack of Wildlife Top Trumps.

These brand-new accounts go live on 14th February, to coincide with Nest Box Week.  (Standby for a lot of ‘feathering your nest’ puns!)

The society is also running a ‘behind the scenes’ event for its members at Old Broom, where they’ll learn more about our work and will discover ways they can join #TeamWilder and do their bit for climate change and biodiversity.

To ‘seal the deal’ our CEO Christine Luxton joined the Society’s CEO Richard Norrington at Lackford Lakes on 9th February so that Richard could see for himself the amazing work carried out and ensure he knows his nightingale from his skylark!

We hope this is the start of a very special partnership. To find out more about the savings products, and the values and ethos of the Society, you can visit one of their nine branches: in Aldeburgh, Hadleigh, Haverhill, Halesworth, Ipswich Town Centre, Ipswich Ravenswood, Saxmundham, Sudbury and Woodbridge. Or you can visit the dedicated page they’ve created on their website.
