Location: Redgrave & Lopham Fen

We are looking for volunteers to help with practical reserve management.

What you’ll be doing:

Reserves management work is varied but typical work would be: scrub clearance and coppicing, fence construction, rush mowing, sedge harvesting, plus sign-making and installation. There are also opportunities for you to help with our livestock husbandry and movement

The skills you need:

No experience necessary but an interest in the Trusts work would be useful. You will need to be fit enough to carry out some physical work.

What you’ll get out of it:

You will learn more about the management of the Fen and get valuable experience volunteering with a conservation organization. You will also get to meet Trust staff and other volunteers. Last but by no means least, the work is always varied, thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding and tea and coffee is provided on site to reward you for your hard work!

The time you need to give:

We meet every Tuesday and Wednesday from 9.30am – 3.30pm. You are welcome to come as often or as little as you like and do not have to stay for the full day if you have other commitments

Other information:

Full training, tools and protective clothing are provided but please bring wellies and stout work boots, plus a hearty packed lunch!
