About the event

Handmake your own bird sculpture in this workshop with willow artist Toni Cross.

You can choose from a selection of bird styles and create your own sculpture to take home, perfect for decorating the garden or porch, or to give as a gift. Each bird is made from a mixture of different willow varieties, as well as some coloured wire if you choose the robin, and is either free standing or mounted on a small log. We work with willow which has been grown in Somerset and specially dried. In order to be suitable for weaving it is then soaked to make it pliable.

This workshop is suitable for beginners, and those with some experience. Some degree of finger strength and dexterity is required.

All materials included, however if you wish to bring preferred secateurs or garden cutters, you are welcome to do so.

Tea and coffee will be provided. The café will be open for the duration, serving savoury food and sweet treats.

When booking please ensure your email/contact address is correct as it will be used to send event joining instructions. If you do not receive these instructions after booking, please contact: lackford.centre@suffolkwildlifetrust.org

Please note that your booking is non-refundable and non-transferable and we run all our courses based on a minimum number of participants. You can find our full Terms & Conditions via this link:  https://www.suffolkwildlifetrust.org/wildlearninginfo
