Background

Suffolk Wildlife Trust began in 1961 with a group of naturalists concerned about the future of Redgrave & Lopham Fen. Since then the Trust has gone from strength to strength and today is proud to be the county’s leading conservation organisation.
As we approach our 50th anniversary we have taken the time to reflect on this journey and the people who have helped along the way. Our supporters are our backbone and as we have grown so has their commitment and enthusiasm. Today we are supported by more than 25,000 members; 1200 volunteers; dedicated funders and numerous others who help our work in a wide range of weird and wonderful ways.
We believe there is a growing interest in the natural world; which bodes well for the future. Through our vision for a Living Landscape we hope to inspire generations to come and encourage them to enjoy Suffolk; our wonderful coastline; our rich wildflower meadows; our ancient woodlands – and our own back gardens.
