About the event

This one day, stained glass workshop is suitable for complete beginners or those returning to the craft after a break. No artistic background or experience is required as patterns, materials, equipment, and friendly, enthusiastic experienced tuition is provided. At the end of the workshop you will take away your own autumn leaf inspired unique glass creation.

The day introduces you to the world of glass where you will learn to cut and grind glass, copper foil the edges and solder pieces to together in the traditional way that the American Louis Comfort Tiffany developed in the 1870’s. You will also learn how to embellish and personalise your glass picture using applique. You will have two tutors on the day to provide instruction and help.

About the course artist:

Marilyn is a local stained-glass artist who has a studio in Oulton Broad. She has 15 years’ experience working with glass and teaching the craft to others.  With 22 years working as a plant scientist behind her, Marilyn’s love of the natural world around her overflows into her glasswork, creating scenes in beautiful shades and textures of glass, often featuring flowers, fungi and small creatures in her original projects.
