Please sign-up to receive our Wilder Communities eNewsletter to be kept up-to-date with our plans to support communities in Suffolk. We are just finalising plans for the two Wilder Communities Days next year. We thank you for your understanding and for all you are doing for wildlife.

Wilder Communities Days: An opportunity to join the Suffolk Wildlife Trust team of wildlife advisers and habitat experts; experienced community groups and other hands-on nature activists in Suffolk communities for an enjoyable day sharing knowledge and generating ideas.

This Wilder Communities Day has been set-up to support local community groups, parish councils, churches and green protagonists to take action for wildlife, to support one another and to work together to support wildlife.

Suffolk Wildlife Trust’s Wider Landscapes team of conservation advisers has visited hundreds of local community projects over the years, as well as private nature reserves, county wildlife sites, schools and churchyards and we’re keen to share the wealth of knowledge and experience with you so that you can take valuable information and ideas back to your own communities.

The Trust is committed to supporting individual landowners and groups alike through its habitat advice, species surveying and advocacy. Its Engagement Team works with schools and groups to inspire the next generation and its Reserves Teams work tirelessly to manage habitat for wildlife on 50 nature reserves in the county.

Similarly, the numerous communities we've worked with in Suffolk have been successful in creating, restoring and managing acres of valuable habitat for wildlife.

It is by us each working together that we can truly make a difference for nature. During the Wilder Communities Days, we will be encouraging everyone to share their experiences and showcase their success stories, so that we can all learn from one another and leave with ideas and inspiration that we can share with our own communities and neighbours.

Refreshments will be provided. Please feel free to bring your own re-usable mug, or a flask.

Notepad and pen
A camera or binoculars if you wish

Please dress suitably for the weather and for the guided walks. We advise you wear long trousers rather than shorts.

This Wilder Communities Days are part of a programme of activities for Community Wildlife Groups arranged by Suffolk Wildlife Trust to support communities, parish councils and churches in optimising the habitat for wildlife in their local public spaces. The programme include in person courses and webinars.
