Forest School Training

Suffolk Wildlife Trust is Suffolk's leading provider of Forest School Leader Training for teachers and practitioners.
 

Our Level 3 Forest School Leader training is facilitated by our Forest School Association (FSA) Endorsed Trainers who have passed rigorous processes set out by the FSA to demonstrate that our trainees receive high quality training experiences. They sit alongside a network of just over 20 Endorsed Trainers Nationally.

Why train with us?

Forest school training with Suffolk Wildlife Trust is not just another CPD course; it is a journey of life-long learning, rooted in nature and community, with real value, and it’s fun!

• The course is led by two experienced tutors, endorsed by the Forest School Association.
• Your training is immersive and takes place in beautiful nature reserves, with undercover and inside spaces when needed. 
• Both nature reserves are also Forest School sites, enabling you to understand the practicalities of setting up an area for Forest School.
• Your cohort will run a Forest School session with a group of local children during your face-to-face training days. This enables you to practice your skills and gain experience whilst having the support of your cohort and your tutors.
• There will be a maximum of 20 people in your cohort, often collaborating on small-group activities.
• To support you as an individual, throughout your training year, you will be assigned a personal tutor.
• There are 11 days of face-to-face training.
• 3 x optional mentoring sessions throughout the year
• A support visit to your site (Suffolk trainees only. For those of you just outside Suffolk, we still offer this; however, there will be an additional charge)
• A yearly Forest School festival for trainees past and present.
• Forest School Association trainee membership discount.
