Being inspired by Martlesham Wilds!

Anna Langford, a local art student at West Suffolk College, shares how wildlife and Martlesham Wilds has influenced her latest college project...

We love hearing how Martlesham Wilds, our new nature reserve, is inspiring and making an impact on our supporters. Local art student Anne, was inspired by nature and wildlife for her art project at West Suffolk College.

Anna writes "For my latest project we had to design our own brief. I chose to create my brief based on animals and nature and I like the idea of supporting a local cause so I aimed my project at the Suffolk Wildlife Trust and specifically them raising funds for a new nature reserve, Martlesham Wilds. I wanted to include some of the animals that will make use of this new habitat in my designs and I have given them more human characteristics. I have designed some t-shirts, a poster and a postcard with some of the more popular animals which you may see at the reserve. I hope you like them."

Michael Strand, our Community Fundraising Manager said, 'We love receiving all the creative fundraising ideas people keep having to help support our Martlesham Wilds campaign. Not least Anna's inspiration to base a whole college project around the new nature reserve and the species it currently supports. When we launched the £1 million campaign at the end of October 2022, never in my wildest dreams did I think it would conjure up inspiration for a barn owl tattoo artist or coiffured curlew! Thanks Anna.'

Thank you so much Anna for featuring Suffolk Wildlife Trust in your fantastic project. We wish you all the best for your studies!
