Our volunteer wardens arranged for the Green Snape Community Group to visit Martlesham Wilds and raised a fabulous £140 for our fundraising campaign!

Earlier this year, Lesley and Derek Walduck, our volunteer wardens from Snape Marshes visited our new nature reserve Martlesham Wilds, for a walk with Charlie Zakss, our Wild Learning Officer.

As they were so inspired by their visit, they organised their Green Snape Community Group to visit earlier this month. Green Snape is a voluntary community group that works to protect and enhance the environment and amenities in and around the village of Snape for the benefit of residents, visitors and wildlife.

The group enjoyed an evening walk with Charlie and JJ Ratcliffe, our South East Suffolk and Martlesham Wilds Warden. After a stroll amongst the beautiful landscape, the group headed back to The Red Lion for a bite to eat.

Everyone came away inspired by their visit, and the walk raised a wonderful £140 towards Martlesham Wilds. A big thank you to Green Snape and our Snape volunteers, for helping us create this space for nature.
