Music marathon for the marshes

Music marathon for the marshes

Suffolk folk singer and songwriter, John Ward, is to host a special day of music at The Stanford Arms in Lowestoft to raise money for the Trust’s £1m appeal to create a giant new nature reserve in the Broads National Park
Suffolk Wildlife Trust

John Ward at Carlton Marshes

Starting at 2.00pm on 17 February, the music will run continuously until 10.30pm with John and musical friends and guests providing the entertainment. John aims to play all day, either solo or guesting with other musicians.

John said: "People can donate in advance through the Music Marathon for the Marshes Justgiving Page, buy a request on the day, or throw some money in the bucket at the pub! David and Sam Burd, who run the Stanford Arms, have generously offered a donation from the day’s profits so, the more real ale you buy, the more money for the local wildlife and environment. No better excuse required!"

He continued: "Several excellent bands and performers have already booked themselves to come and play, with more to follow. Come along and support this excellent community cause, take part or just enjoy a day of spontaneous music-making."
