What you will be doing:
Our café has become an increasingly important part of our visitors experience at the reserve. Volunteers will assist the team at Lackford to serve visitors from the café and retail area.
This role will involve chatting to visitors whilst serving drinks, cakes and sale items, using a till and encouraging visitors to support Suffolk Wildlife Trust. Full training will be given.
The skills you need:
Cheerful nature and always willing to help. You'll need to enjoy serving customers, working in a changing environment and eagerness to learn aspects of the catering/retail offer. Experience in handling food would be helpful but not essential as full training will be given.
What you'll get out of it:
The chance to be part of a friendly and enthusiastic team. You'll learn new skills and share your enthusiasm for wildlife, learning more about the work of the Trust along the way. Lackford is also a beautiful place to spend time.
The time you need to give:
Currently we are operating on reduced opening hours (10am to 3:30pm) so we looking for volunteers who will be able to cover these times. In particular we are looking for volunteers to assist at weekends.
