Wild Learning Officer led school visits - Coast and Rivers

Your school visit to the coast and rivers

Suffolk has a coast line of 49 miles with an additional 83 miles of tidal edge on the estuaries meaning that for many children their nearest natural environment is the beach. Our coastal programmes extend from Felixstowe to Lowestoft, enabling children to experience the coast in a new enlightening way while increasing their knowledge of this ever changing landscape. Our 'Ducking Down the Deben' visit follows the river Deben from source to estuary.

A usual day runs between 10am and 2.30pm. We are flexible half an hour either side of this. Price per pupil is £5.00

Back on the bus to Brandeston for kick sampling in the river. A quick journey to Woodbridge for lunch and observations of the changes in the river. The final coach ride will finish at the beach in Bawdsey for beach combing and natural art depictions of the course of the river.

We had a fantastic day out. All the staff were warm, welcoming and enthusiastic about their activities. The setting was perfect- brought our mini-beast topic alive! We would love to come again.
