Data Entry Volunteer

Data Entry Volunteer

Location:
Brooke House, The Green, Ashbocking, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP6 9JY
We are looking for a data entry volunteer to work with our friendly and enthusiastic team based at Suffolk Wildlife Trust headquarters. Working hours will be 7.5-14 hours per fortnight.

Overall purpose of role

Suffolk Wildlife Trust is the county’s nature charity with ambitious plans for a wilder Suffolk. By 2030, 30% of land in Suffolk will be working for nature and 1 in 4 people will be taking action for nature. Our staff and volunteers are fundamental to achieving these targets.

Once a year we send a survey to selected areas of Suffolk to ask people what wildlife they have seen in their local neighbourhood.  This helps us to build a picture of what species people are regularly seeing in their area, what they feel about nature and natural spaces, and their concerns about nature’s decline.

This volunteering role is to help us input the survey returns into a spreadsheet for analysis.  In this way you will be contributing to our valuable knowledge about Suffolk’s wildlife.

The role would suit someone with good IT literacy (particularly MS Excel) and excellent attention to detail.

It is based with the friendly team at our central office at Brooke House in Ashbocking.

Main responsibilities

  • Interpret and input wildlife survey data into a spreadsheet, in accordance with instructions from our Head of Business Development.
  • Assist the Head of Development in interpreting the survey results e.g. through the production of graphs and charts.

What you'll get out of it

The chance to be part of a friendly and enthusiastic team, learning more about the work of the Trust along the way. If you are looking to further your skills, add something to your CV or put skills you already have back into somewhere amazing that needs your support, this could be for you!
